The next CVRR social ride will be on Sunday the 1st of November. This time we will explore a little known rolling jem of a trail known only to a hand full of crusty locals which links Muckleford and Newstead. We're calling it the "Red White and Blue Mine ride". The ride will be roughly 3 hours return and all riders are expected to be self sufficient in regards to water, food , spares and fitness. It is a social ride so the emphasis will be on enjoyment and should be suitable to any one with adaquate trail riding abbilities and fitness.
This is an official club ride so for non MTBA members there will be a $5 fee for a day licence.

The “Baco” Social Ride

Join the Rocky Riders for a social ride around the lesser known “Baco Trails”. Ride will depart the Theatre Royal at 10.30, Sunday 1^st March.  Moderate skills and fitness required.

Due to the extreme fire danger and related permit issues this weekend’s state series XC will now be run at Jubber Land (see location map). Please let all your mountain bike buddies know.

NETWORK CONNECTION DETAILS:

Bring your own wireless capable laptop and you can use it at the race site to pick up results during and after the race.  Family and friends that come along to watch can follow your progress during the race and you’ll be able to get race results on your laptop as soon as you’re finished.  There will be a wireless network with the ID “RockyRidersNet” at the race site.  It will be unsecured, so it will not require a username or password.  Once you’re on the network, simply open a web browser and you’ll be directed to the race results page.  Race results will be in PDF format and updated every 5-10 minutes during the race.

Requirements:

• Wireless capable laptop (charge it up before coming, power will not be available on-site for laptops)
• Any Operating System (e.g. Windows, Mac, Linux)
• Any web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer , Mozilla, Safari)
• Any PDF reader (e.g. Adobe Rader)

Rocky Riders Christmas Social Ride

Rocky Riders Christmas Social Ride will be held on Sunday 23^rd December  - Mount Franklin to Castlemaine along the dry diggings trail. Moderate fitness and skills required. Initial plans are to meet at the Theatre Royal at 10am to grab a coffee. BBQ Lunch at Vaughan Springs along the way. Due to the need for a car shuffle and permit conditions in the National Park, this ride is limited to 20 people and

SOCIAL RIDE – 1^st July 2007

The Rocky Riders are hosting a social ride around the Jubber Land track this Sunday, 1 July 2007. For the youngsters (under 13s) there will be a come‘n’try session from 9.30 – 10.30 am (must have own serviceable mountain bike, helmet and a parent/guardian to sign insurance form). Departing at 11am the big kids can have a play, with a social ride around Jubber Land and maybe a few of the nearby trails for those who want more. Fast and Slow groups. The Rocky Riders wont hold their annual Christmas Mountain Bike Ride and BBQ at the Vaughan Springs Reserve on 10 December 2006. It has been postponed, due to the filthy hot weather forecast.  If you turn up and nobody is about then you should have checked this message.  Merry Chirstmas.  Please lay blame on climate change and rampaging bushfires for the cancellation of our fun.....Next social ride will be a awesome singletrack extraganza in January..if its not too hot

Come and do a few laps of the Castlemaine Enduro 6-hour Course.

Option 1 - Meet at the carpark behind the information centre at 10am and ride (via mountain bike trails) out to the course (approx 40 minutes) do a few laps and ride back to castlemaine

Option 2 - Meet at the enduro course at 10.45.

Motor Vehicle directions to Enduro Course: Proceed into Castlemaine via Chewton. Turn left at the traffic lights (sign posted to Daylesford). Continue on

MTBA license or day license required.

Weds night rides start from Castlemaine Cycles at 5.45 pm.  28 Hargraves street Castlemaine. 

Rides generally last from 2-21/2 hours.  Skill level and fitness is medium to high. 

Riders have to be self supporting and have access to good quality lights.  Untill the return of daylight saving returns.
